Can I Install Android on HTC

HTC HD2 phone by T-Mobile has the operating system of Windows Mobile by default. Because of several reasons, many users don’t like this default Microsoft operating system and want it to change to Android, which is highly used OS on phone as of today. Android is rich on features and pretty stable OS.

The good new is that if you want to change Windows Mobile to Android, then its very much possible. Here’s how you can do it in few simple steps. Please note that by following these procedures, you shall be able to install Android Gingerbread 2.3 in your device.

Install Android on HTC

Step1

Download Android image file in the HTC SD card. Make sure that you have around 200 MB of free space available in the HTC device memory. You can download Android OS source code from Android Open Source Project. After downloading you will need to build the source code for the HTC mobile device.

Step2

Make sure that the files (in the folder) that you have copied lies in the root directory of the SD card folder. Next you need to run the file name CLRXAD.exe. This you can do with the help of file explorer in the HTC device.

Step3

Again you need to browse the SD card with the help of File Explorer and run HARET.exe.

After running this file, the device shall take 10 to 15 minutes to actually boot up. That’s it! Now go ahead and use Android on your device.

NOTE: Android OS or for that matter any OS is very much hardware dependent software. For all the features of this OS to run on your device, your phone should be fully compliant with the OS that you are installing.
